Building Resilience. Restoring Trust. Strengthening Support.
Beyond the Badge is an interactive, evidence-informed training program designed to help public safety professionals better understand and respond to the impacts of occupational trauma, moral injury, and suicide risk within their professions.
The workshop integrates education on trauma and moral injury, QPR suicide prevention training, and the SHIELD™ safety planning framework. Through facilitated discussion, practical exercises, and real-world scenarios, participants develop skills to recognize warning signs, support colleagues, respond to individuals experiencing crises, and identify pathways toward healing and growth.
Going beyond awareness and traditional approaches to resilience, the program emphasizes early intervention, reducing stigma, and strengthening individual and organizational responses to support those who serve.

Understanding Military Culture, BattleMind, & Veteran Response
Beyond Their Service is a four-hour, interactive training designed to help public safety professionals better understand and respond to veterans they may encounter in the community, workplace, or within their own organizations.
The program explores military culture and acculturation, how military training and BattleMind adaptations may continue to influence behavior after service, and the parallels between military and public safety cultures.
Participants move from cultural understanding into practical application, including identifying veteran status, interpreting behaviors in context, communicating and de-escalating more effectively, considering firearms and other safety factors, engaging families and trusted supports, and navigating veteran-specific resources.
The training also addresses the unique considerations involved in supporting fellow officers who are veterans and introduces the SAFER framework, providing participants with a practical approach to recognizing concerns, assessing immediate safety, facilitating de-escalation, engaging veterans, and connecting them with appropriate resources and follow-up.
